Altova UModel® 2008 is the starting point for successful software development. Visually design application models in UML and generate Java, C#, or Visual Basic .NET code and project documentation. Or, reverse engineer existing programs into UML 2 diagrams, then fine tune your designs and complete the round trip by regenerating code. UModel makes visual software design practical for any project. It is a simple, cost-effective way to draw on UML.

UModel® 2008 combines a rich visual interface with superior usability features to help level the UML learning curve, yet it also includes high-end functionality to empower users with the most compelling advantages of UML software development.

UModel 2008 Enterprise Edition can integrate and operate inside either of these integrated development environments (IDEs), adding exciting new functionality. When using UModel 2008 within these multi-purpose IDEs, a developer can open a UModel project in one window and the associated application code in a source code editor in another. Automatic synchronization can be set in either or both directions to instantly update the UML model or source code whenever changes are made to the other. This allows developers to instantly see the impact of application revisions, whether implemented in the model or directly in source code.

Altova SchemaAgent™ Enterprise is a graphical schema administration tool that allows you to view a collection of schemas as a pool of resources. SchemaAgent also allows you to view schemas used as data sources and/or targets in Altova MapForce® data mapping designs.

Altova SchemaAgent™ includes the SchemaAgent client and a SchemaAgent Server. The SchemaAgent Server is installed on one computer in your workgroup and can be configured to connect to any standard file repository on your network or on the Internet. Once the SchemaAgent Server is configured with your desired file paths, it builds an internal map of the relationships between all schemas (.XSD) and MapForce mapping design files (.MFD) in the defined server paths. Any number of SchemaAgent clients may connect to the SchemaAgent Server to have access to all these schemas.

Altova SemanticWorks™ allows you to graphically create and edit RDF instance documents, RDFS vocabularies, and OWL ontologies with full syntax checking. Context-sensitive entry helpers present you with a list of permitted choices based on the RDF or OWL dialect you’re using, so you can create valid documents quickly and easily.

SemanticWorks™ provides, easy-to-use functionality for:

• Visual creation and editing of RDF, RDF Schema (RDFS), OWL Lite, OWL DL, and OWL Full documents using an intuitive, visual interface and drag-and-drop functionality

DiffDog® indicates differences visually, allowing you to quickly identify changes. For optimal efficiency, you can edit documents directly within the differencing interface, merge changes, and instantly re-compare the edited files.

DiffDog® provides the same capabilities for directory comparisons, allowing you to compare and merge directories, and open and edit the file pairs directly from the directory comparison display.

Intelligent XML Differencing
In addition to text file and directory comparisons, DiffDog® Professional Edition supports intelligent XML differencing features and options, such as DTD/schema-based validation, well-formedness checking, intelligent entry helpers, and much more to help you compare and merge XML files in an intelligent manner. The DiffDog® XML differencing capabilities are completely customizable. For example, you can specify if entities should be resolved, if namespace prefixes, whitespace, CDATA, processing instructions, comments, or the ordering of attributes/child elements should be ignored or not, how to visualize differences, and so on. DiffDog® Professional Edition also allows you to compare XML files in advanced text view or the indispensable grid view popularized by Altova XMLSpy®.

Altova provides free technical support for all customers for 30 days after the date of purchase.

If you wish to receive priority technical support beyond that date and receive software updates throughout the year, you need to purchase a "Support and Maintenance Package (SMP)" for your software. The Support & Maintenance Package is available in a one- or two-year plan. Please note that you can only add Support and Maintenance Package (SMP) to a product at the time you purchase the license (or up to 30 Days after you purchase).

Services included:

Priority Technical Support - Priority Technical Support is provided via a Web-based support form. Altova will respond within 1-2 business days during European or US business hours (MO-FR, 8am UTC - 10pm UTC, Austrian and US holidays excluded).

Free Minor & Major Versions - You will receive all maintenance releases and major software versions that are released during your Support Period. Updates that you receive cover the specific edition of the product that you have purchased and typically include many additional features.

Maintenance - During the Support Period you may also report any software problem or error to Altova using the same support process described above. If Altova determines that a reported reproducible material error in the software exists and significantly impairs the usability and utility of the software, Altova agrees to use reasonable commercial efforts to correct or provide a usable work-around solution in an upcoming maintenance release or update, which is made available at certain times at Altova's sole discretion.

Support Period

The Support & Maintenance Package that is currently offered with Altova products covers the product for which it is being purchased for a period of either one or two years. The support period begins on the day you purchase the product license and extends for a period of exactly 12 or 24 months, depending on whether you purchase the one- or two-year option. SMP may be purchased at the time you purchase a product license and during the 30 day period immediately thereafter. You may also renew an existing SMP for an additional one- or two-year period. During the Support Period, you will receive Support & Maintenance services from Altova as defined in section "6. SUPPORT & MAINTENANCE" in the Altova end-user license agreement ("EULA") or in the SMP Terms of Use, as applicable.
