Aurigma Image Uploader ActiveX is an ActiveX control for IE which is intended for user-friendly uploading images and other files. An intuitive user interface, customizable appearance, memory-friendly even for huge uploads, basic imaging capabilities (can send up to 3 thumbnails) - all make Image Uploader the ideal uploading solution for digital photo print ordering sites and other ones where uploading multiple files with unexperienced users is important.

Image Uploader is a client-side ActiveX control which allows you to upload and navigate through the images on a client computer, make basic image processing (generate thumbnails, rotate), edit descriptions of images and then upload them to a server. It dramatically increases the efficiency of uploading images to a server compared to standard input type='file' elements. It can also upload up to 3 thumbnails, so you need not generate them on the server. Non-image files can also be uploaded. It retrieves data from the server in standard multipart/form-data format, so files can be handled by any script or platform: ASP, ASP.NET, Perl, PHP, ColdFusion, JSP, etc.
Aurigma Image Uploader ActiveX Main Features:
- Easy navigation through the folders on your computer. Displays thumbnails for the pictures (JPEG, TIFF, PSD, WBMP, BMP, and GIF). You can also switch between different views: thumbnails, details, list, and icons
- Memory friendly even for huge numbers of uploaded files
- Allow both multiple and single file selection
- Automatically tracks changes in file system (folder content)
- Preview thumbnails are taken from EXIF if possible (extremely fast)
- Files can be uploaded in separate requests; this means that if upload process was interrupted, user will be able to resume it. They will not have to upload files which already have been uploaded
- Automatic recovery of upload if connection is broken
- Support of non-image files
- Generating up to three thumbnails of different sizes (on client-side)
- Rotating of images in 90 degree increments (on client-side)
- Adding descriptions to each file
- Displaying a progress bar during file upload
- Ability to display quality meter that allows user to estimate a maximum acceptable print format

- International languages support. Easy to localize Image Uploader user interface to other languages. All text displayed in Image Uploader can be localized. East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc) languages are fully supported too

Aurigma Image Uploader Express Edition:
- Allows for using Image Uploader with one server with up to 2 CPUs (or one compute unit on a virtual hosting)
- Allows using Image Uploader with one full-qualified domain name (hostname)
- Allows for uploading files to cloud storage services like Amazon S3™ and similar with data transfer amount less than 10 TB/month
- Allows increasing data transfer amount limit for cloud storage services.
- Free development license for the localhost hostname (no license key required).

Additional Domain Connectors
if you have a website with multiple domains, you will need to purchase a Standard or Professional license and as many Domain Connectors as many extra domains you have. One domain is already included with the main license.
Example: You have a website with the following 3 aliases:
www.example1.com, www.example2.com, www.example1.net
In this case you need one Standard or Professional license and two Domain connectors.
Server Connectors
They should be purchased if to process uploads with a webfarm consisting of multiple servers. If the webfarm is used, each extra server requires a separate Server connector. Also, if these servers have more than 2 CPUs, each extra CPU requires a separate Server connector as well.
Example 1: if you have a webfarm consisting of 8 servers, You need to purchase 7 Server connectors (in addition to the main license and Domain connectors if required).
Example 2: If you have a webfarm that consists of 8 4-CPU servers. In this case the math will be the following: each server will require 2 extra connectors per server. So the total number of Server connectors will be 3*7=21.
Example 3: Server connectors may be required is when the customer has multi-core CPU with more than 8 cores. In other words, if there will be mainstream quad-core CPUs, Aurigma interprets them as a single unit. But if there will be something unusual like 32-core SPARC machine, extra cores will require connectors.
Important notes:
1. Customers cannot get connectors for Express license. Express license is limited by one 2-CPU server with one domain. They can buy multiple Express licenses though (however they are still limited by one server).
2. Connectors cannot be purchased without a Main Standard or Professional license. The only exception is if the customer already has a Standard or Professional license, and just added new servers or domains for their website.
3. Connectors should correspond to the Main license type. In other words, if a customer purchases Professional license, they cannot get Standard connectors and vice versa.
