This is an incredible product... finally, a set of grid controls with *everything*. I'd been working with the Infragistics controls but been frustrated with certain lacks in their model (a multi-column drop down, for example)... then I came across a reference to DevExpress in a newsgroup and the rest, they say, is history. Advantages: 1) No crashes, incredible forethought to things like memory management. 2) The price---my goodness, it's low. 3) Support so far has been stellar. 4) A complete and reliable set of documenting help files and demo projects. Drawbacks: 1) The naming conventions used are non-standard and at times bizarre. (What would be "DataSourceList" in a MS or Sheridan control is "LookUpDataSource" in Quantum). 2) The documentation is not linked to the controls; you have to open the help files up manually. 3) The installation process for the Suite is multi-step, with an extract key *and* a registration key for each of the six packages... a bit cumbersome (but at least once you own the product, you *own* it, unlike some of the other grids and their "Activation" policies).
