What's New in TestAdvantage for Windows Forms (for HP QuickTest Professional Software) 2009 Volume 2?

Support for New and Enhanced NetAdvantage Windows Forms Controls in the 2009 Volume 2 release, plus:

WinTilePanel - New UI Testing - New recordable actions like ToggleTileState, CloseTile, DrafTile and the replay-only action, GetIndexFromPosition which identifies a Tile by its index based on its (X, Y) coordinates within the user interface enable you to test the new WinTilePanel container.

WinGrid - Enhanced - Testing for the new Row Layout Groups feature and many other UI interactions which are similar (examples include moving or resizing columns within a row layout) has been consolidated into four new recordable actions:

• HeaderMove,
• HeaderResize,
• HeaderSpanResize, and
• SwapHeaders;

And three new enumerations. These new recordable action replace a large number of actions which we used to use for these UI interactions. These legacy actions are now replay-only, so your existing test scripts will continue to function normally.

WinTimelineView - New UI Testing

• TimelineViewProxy inherits all of the actions you are familiar with when testing any of the WinSchedule view controls.
• It adds recordable actions for creating, editing, selecting and removing appointments, displaying dialogs (even your custom appointment dialog), selecting owners, selecting timeslots and more.
• It adds replay0only actions that can bring any appointment, owner or timeslot into view, and perform many different UI actions.
• Its new QTPTimelineViewAction enumeration enables you to set a wide variety of nearly 40 different UI actions for your automated testing purposes.

What's New in TestAdvantage for Windows Forms (for HP QuickTest Professional Software) 2009 Volume 1?

Support for New and Enhanced NetAdvantage Windows Forms Controls in the 2009 Volume 1 release, plus:

• WinPanel – New UI Testing - Proxy for the WinPanel supports an OpenScrollbarContextMenu action for when the context menu is displayed on the scroll bars of the WinPanel.
• WinGrid – Enhanced - DisplayFilterUIProvider action is recorded when filtering is triggered through the WinGrid’s new and enhanced filtering UI, where the trigger can be by clicking the dropdown button on a Filter row, or clicking on a column header’s Filter icon.
• A menu tools area of the enhanced filter UI pop-up can be tested just like it was in a toolbar manager.
• You can record the Filter tree appearing in the enhanced filter UI pop-up when it is the active control, just like you can test a WinTree.
• To enable you to test the new Column Header checkbox synchronization, 2 new actions have been added:
• SetColumnHeaderCheckState action ensures the specified column header checkbox is in the right state.
• GetColumnHeaderCheckState replay-only action lets you retrieve the column header’s checkbox state.
• WinCombo and WinComboEditor – Enhanced - Test the new Multi-select checkboxes functionality with a new record/replay action, SetCheckState, and a new replay-only action, GetCheckState.
• SetCellData action recording in WinGrid and WinTree now treats Cell values as text, when that Cell has a DataType indicating it implements IList such as it would have if WinComboEditor were its embedded editor.
• WinListView – Enhanced - Test rounding up multiple, discontiguous selections with the new Lasso selection behavior using a new action, SelectItems.
• Four previous actions: Select, SelectRange, ExtendSelect and Deselect, have been deprecated in favor of the new SelectItems action.  When you see all of the SelectionType scenarios it can handle, you’ll never need four actions to do the job of one action again
• WinSchedule – Enhanced - Symmetrically record and replay both the dragging and resizing of appointments on the WinDayView, WinWeekView and WinMonthViewSingle.

HP Software Cerfitication - TestAdvantage for Windows Forms (for HP QuickTest Professional software) has achieved certification status by meeting HP's interoperability standards for working with HP QuickTest Professional. Software certification adds assurance that you can count on TestAdvantage for Windows Forms (for HP QuickTest Professional) to work compatibly, reliably and robustly in the test environment.

Error Logging - Enhanced - In this release we have improved the logging of TestAdvantage-related messages within the HP QuickTest Professional environment. All TestAdvantage-related messages begin with an "IG" prefix making it easy for you to distinguish messages resulting from the TestAdvantage proxies in your UI test scripts from those raised by HP QuickTest Professional itself or third-party add-ins.

• WinGrid - Enhanced - Complete automated UI testing support for the row edit template and grid cell proxy. Controls used on custom Forms for the row edit template record and replay the same way, whether or not they are on a row edit template custom Form.
• WinChart - Enhanced - Support for capturing mouse actions such as mouse over, mouse out and mouse click on the data items displayed hierarchically by the new treemap chart type. Test scripts receive data row and data column indexes corresponding to the data item underlying any region displayed by the treemap.

Support for New and Enhanced NetAdvantage for Windows Forms Controls Released in NetAdvantage for Windows Forms 2008 Volume 1, including:

• WinTrackBar - NEW - The TrackBar enables users to select an item in scale by sliding a tickmark across a line.  Its value can be used for setting colors or other items that may be on a numeric line.
• WinTree – Enhanced - The TreeView in Vista took on an animation as the user scrolls to deeper levels.  This negates the need for a horizontal scrollbar and allows the end user to focus purely on the node they have selected.  This enhancement increases the usability of the tree.
• WinListView – Enhanced - An additional setting has been added to WinListView that enables auto resizing of columns which is consistent with functionality found in the Microsoft ListView.

Support for New and Enhanced NetAdvantage for Windows Forms Controls Released in TestAdvantage HP Edition 2007 Volume 3, including:

• The new WinNavigationBar breadcrumb control
• New Navigation Toolbar (forward, back, and recent history navigation)
