  • The Aurora PostgreSQL cluster monitoring experience been reworked and improved. The cluster overview page will now show detailed metrics about the cluster's DB instances, as well as cluster events, alongside aggregation of query performance metrics. The dashboard will show a single card for the cluster, with navigation to instances available inside the overview page. Additionally, clusters with auto-monitoring of instances enabled will now automatically monitor writer instances as well as readers. Auto-monitoring can be enabled when adding an Aurora PostgreSQL cluster, or when editing its credentials.
  • Individual query execution monitoring is now available for Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Google Cloud SQL for SQL Server.
  • The Virtual Machines machine details panel has been replaced with a full-screen modal.

Previously an availability group was hidden if no data had been collected for it in the preceding 2 hours; the most recently collected topology is now returned for up to 24 hours.
  • Fixed an issue where Query execution monitoring could time out prematurely.

  • When a SQL Server database is inaccessible to the monitoring account (for example, a database restored from another server where the monitoring user has no user mapping), the monitored server now shows Monitoring with limited sampling in amber, and the monitoring log lists each affected database with the specific error. Previously this was silently ignored and no indication was shown in the UI.
  • PostgreSQL query plan history now distinguishes plans that use different indexes, making index changes visible as plan changes.
  • New Analysis chart now locks the Y-axis for percentage metrics to 0 to 100%.
  • Configuration Compliance now uses a ≠ icon (rather than an up/down arrow) when Min server memory or Max server memory differs from the baseline, since the baseline is a target value rather than a threshold.
  • Major change - After upgrading, PostgreSQL queries with existing plan history will show a duplicate plan entry. This is due to a breaking change to query plan storage which greatly improves efficiency, and will resolve as the data reaches its retention period.

  • Linux host CPU utilization metrics now exclude I/O wait time from the calculation. The CPU is idle during I/O waits, so including it previously overstated utilization. This results in lower reported CPU percentages for Linux machines with significant I/O activity. Customers with CPU alert thresholds configured for Linux hosts may need to adjust their thresholds.
  • Alerts for a custom metric will now be raised for Amazon RDS for SQL Server when the metric is running against system databases. If this behavior is not intended, specify the databases to be excluded from the custom metrics configuration page.
  • Exclude VM snapshot backups from backup history and RPO calculations on the Backups Estate page.
  • Linux installations: environment variable names for connection strings are now REDGATE_MONITOR_PostgresRepositoryConnectionString / REDGATE_MONITOR_SqlServerRepositoryConnectionString and are now read directly by the Base Monitor. Existing installations using the old names will continue to work without any changes.
  • As a result of performance improvement changes, PostgreSQL query plans are no longer accessible from a query's kebab menu.

  • Security Fix - Updated the Microsoft.Kiota.Http.HttpClientLibrary package to 1.22.2 to address a reported vulnerability with a CVSS 3.1 base score of 6.5 (Medium). Redgate Monitor uses this library in its support for monitoring Microsoft Entra domains. Requests are only made to Microsoft Azure APIs, and there's no evidence that any of these APIs have been compromised.
  • Fixed an issue where the PowerShell module would report a misleading version mismatch error when a transient connection problem occurred, instead of reporting the actual connection failure.
  • Fixed an issue where PostgreSQL monitoring would fail with an interval syntax error on systems with a locale that uses a comma as the decimal separator (e.g. Italian, German, Turkish).
  • Fixed an issue where Postgres query plan compare would fail in some cases for IIS installations.

  • Security Fix - Updated the Snappier package to 1.3.1 to address a reported vulnerability with a CVSS 3.1 base score of 7.5 (High). The vulnerability lies in the MongoDB driver used by Redgate Monitor. Since the driver only uses Snappier if compression is enabled, but Redgate Monitor currently doesn't support compression, Redgate Monitor is unaffected by this vulnerability.
  • Fixed an issue where certain Azure failures would prevent any cloud information being retrieved.
  • Fixed an issue where OpenID Connect authentication failed when the website is behind a reverse proxy (e.g. AWS ALB, nginx) that forwards requests from a non-loopback IP address. This was caused by an upstream .NET runtime change (ASP.NET Core 9.0.6+) that began enforcing proxy trust checks on X-Forwarded-Proto and X-Forwarded-Host headers. Trusted proxy networks can be configured via forwardedHeadersSettings in appsettings.json.
  • Fixed an issue where Oracle custom metric collection was attempted on Data Guard standby instances.
  • Fixed an issue where standalone SQL Servers with a leftover MSCluster WMI namespace would be incorrectly flagged as having a connection failure.
  • Added a feature flag which allows users to disable Oracle error log sampling.
  • Fixed an issue where Aurora instances in a creating state would cause a monitoring error due to a missing availability zone.
