What's New in ComponentOne Studio for WPF

The newest version of ComponentOne's WPF control set introduces four new controls. Each control is fully compatible with its Silverlight equivalent so you can quickly build both rich desktop client and Web applications with shared code.

• 4 New Controls - C1DataGrid and C1Maps, which are compatible with ComponentOne Silverlight Grid and Maps controls.  Plus C1Toolbar, C1Calendar.
• Chart enhancements make creating markers, labels and interactive elements easier.
• Enhanced Docking now uses the native WPF Windows UI for floating windows.

New ComponentOne Maps for WPF

• Get smooth zooming, panning, and mapping between screen and geographical coordinates with ComponentOne Maps for WPF.
• Display information from various sources, including Microsoft Live Maps and Google Maps.
• You can also draw your own custom elements to the maps and associate them with locations.
• Fully compatible to ComponentOne Maps for Silverlight.

New ComponentOne Toolbar for WPF

• Create custom, professional looking toolbars in your WPF applications.
• Embed any content within the toolbar for complete extensibility.
• Ribbon-like behavior allows pieces of the toolbar to collapse when the form is resized.
• Fully compatible to ComponentOne Toolbar for Silverlight.

New ComponentOne DataGrid for WPF

• This new, more advanced DataGrid control will be able to deliver more features and better performance for large datasets.
• Features include Excel-like filtering, sorting, freezing, aggregate grouping, exporting, printing, easy custom templates, scrolling and paging.
• Fully compatible to ComponentOne DataGrid for Silverlight, this new DataGrid will not support carousel and card views which are currently supported in ComponentOne Grid for WPF.

New ComponentOne Calendar for WPF

• This new control will integrate more seamlessly with the C1Scheduler control for full yearly, monthly and daily navigation. Also expect the ability to host multiple calendars in a single container to give you true Microsoft Outlook-style navigation.
• This new calendar control will replace C1MonthCalendar control in the Studio for WPF control suite. The new calendar control will be written on a newer framework and have full compatibility to the ComponentOne Studio for Silverlight version.

DockControl for WPF Enhancements

• Supports the native WPF Windows UI for floating tabs.
• The current Windows UI (using C1Window) will remain in place for XBAP deployment scenarios.

What's New in ComponentOne Studio for Silverlight

• ComponentOne Studio for Silverlight now offers full support for Silverlight 4.0
• New Calendar control integrates with C1Scheduler.
• Many enhancements:
  • RichTextBox now has Html Table support in the RichTextBoxToolbar.  Plus improved Hyperlink insertion tool and support for embedded images in the toolbars and filters.
  • Toolbar enhancements include a more ribbon-like appearance and toolbar groups can be collapsed.
  • Chart enhancements make creating markers, labels and interactive elements easier.
  • DataGrid enhancements include cell merging and multiple column headers.

New ComponentOne Calendar for Silverlight

• This new calendar control integrates seamlessly with the C1Scheduler for building complete Microsoft Outlook-style applications. C1Calendar is a multi-month calendar control that enables date range selection with interactive navigation.

Toolbar for Silverlight Enhancements

• Enhanced Ribbon-like appearance and behavior of toolbar groups.
• Collapsible toolbar groups.
• Support for the Silverlight 4 commanding framework.

DataGrid for Silverlight Enhancements

• Added ICollectionView support.
• Asynchronous data validation.
• Visibility property added to Rows. You can now hide rows and create more hierarchical scenarios.

What's New in ComponentOne Studio for Winforms

• ComponentOne Studio for Winforms now includes support for .NET 4.0
• ComponentOne added Gauges in V1.  These Gauges are now wizard-based for quick, easy gauge design.
• Editor enhancements include support for nested lists, restart numbering and continue numbering.  Plus a new ColorPickerControl button within the toolbar.
• Menus and Toolbars now have Office 2010 Themes.
• DockingTab enhancements include improvements in docking styles - VS2008 and VS2010 styles as well as Office 2010 Themes.

ComponentOne's suite of Windows Forms controls, fully compatible with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 now includes more features and design-time interactivity. True DBGrid has more Microsoft Excel-like functionality, and Editor for WinForms now has support for public history, enhanced list support, and a new ColorPicker control. And with enhanced design-time editors in Gauges for WinForms, you can quickly create, style, and customize your gauges.

True DBGrid for WinForms Enhancements

• True DBGrid now supports multi-selection in the filter drop-down value list. Users can select multiple values to filter on, just like Microsoft Excel filtering.

Editor for WinForms Enhancements

• Enhanced list support: nested lists, restart numbering, continue numbering.
• Added public history support: undo/redo with a stack of actions (transactions).
• New ColorPickerControl button in the toolbar.
• New sample that shows how to protect parts of the document from editing.

Gauges for WinForms Enhancements

• Enhanced design-time editors for quick and easy gauge design.
• With new interactive features you can use C1Gauge for data input. For example, add gauge buttons within the design of the gauge to allow users to change values. Gauge pointers can also be dragged at run time by the mouse while optionally snapping to set intervals along the scale.

Ribbon for WinForms Enhancements

• Galleries can now be expanded and added to the QAT, C1StatusBar, and other containers.
• New ImageList properties (large and small) allow you to use external ImageLists as the source of images to display in the C1Ribbon and C1StatusBar controls.

InputPanel for WinForms Enhancements

• New ImageList property for displaying images more easily on input buttons, menus, split buttons, and group headers.

DockingTab for WinForms Enhancements

• New ability to completely hide the tabs. Just set ShowTabs to False and you can create a multi-page form all in one.
• Improvements in docking styles, including VS2008 and VS2010 styles.
• Added Microsoft Office 2010 visual styles.

Menus and Toolbar for WinForms Enhancements

• New Office 2010 visual styles for blue, black and silver.

Zip for .NET Enhancements

• Added support for Zip64 files. This allows for entries longer than the usual 4G limit and also more entries per zip file.

What's New in ComponentOne ASP.NET

The newest version of the ComponentOne ASP.NET control suite now has three new samples along with performance enhancements. Learn best practices from these real-world samples.

NEW Samples:

• AdventureWorks
  Based on the AdventureWorks SQL Server sample database, this is a full blown reference application for the fictitious AdventureWorks store. It uses Entity Framework, Linq, AJAX, jQuery, CSS, and much more
• StockPortfolio
  This sample shows how to build rich Web applications in ASP.NET that pull data from Web services. It uses data from Yahoo Finance and blends server-side and client-side code to create a great UX. ComponentOne have included a real progress bar to the UpdatePanel to show CallBack status
• iTunes
  ComponentOne's own version of iTunes built in ASP.NET with jQuery, AJAX, and ADO.NET Data Services. This application demonstrates some great features in the A2 Framework and highlights new features in ASP.NET
